Principal Product Manager, AI Assistant

Gusto is seeking a product leader for their CoreX AI team to define, build, and scale their conversational assistant for small businesses. You will work across payroll, benefits, and HR domains to shape how AI acts on behalf of customers with speed and trust. The position involves collaborating closely with engineering, design, and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

• 10+ years building as a product manager, with experience owning meaningful scope and driving broad product or platform-level decisions
• Hands-on experience building with AI and understanding what it takes to build trusted AI products, including writing evals and holding a point of view on AI quality
• Comfort spanning both platform thinking and UX/experience judgment within the same role
• Experience developing sharp perspectives on the systems AI products need, such as RAG, ontology, and scalable API strategy
• Ability to work in a high-visibility role engaging directly with leadership and driving decisions
