Senior Data Engineer

Tamara is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate their next-generation, petabyte-scale multi-cloud data core spanning event streaming, data warehousing, and experimentation. You will lead technical initiatives, build robust streaming and batch systems, and provide leadership to a team of engineers within a regulated fintech environment.

• Preferably 6+ years of experience in data engineering or distributed backend systems
• 3+ years operating large-scale streaming or data platform infrastructure in production
• Experience mentoring or technically leading engineers
• Hands-on experience with streaming platforms like Kafka and distributed processing tools like Spark or Flink
• Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines on GCP with BigQuery
• Working knowledge of LakeHouse formats such as Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi, and columnar storage like Parquet
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and cloud-agnostic tooling like Terraform and Kubernetes
• Strong background in data modeling and optimizing cloud data warehouses
