Staff Product Designer

Gusto is seeking Staff Product Designers across their Money and HR Experience product organizations to own end-to-end design in high-stakes, AI-native domains. In this role, you will partner with product managers and engineers to shape goals, turn ambiguity into trustworthy products, and define new interaction patterns. Ideal candidates will have strong systems thinking and experience shipping user-centered solutions in complex spaces.

• 6+ years of product design experience owning and shipping end-to-end work, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, or another high-trust domain, with strong craft across web
• Experience designing AI-enabled or conversational experiences shipped to real users, handling uncertainty, errors, and human override
• Comfort with ambiguity and 0 to 1 problem framing, scoping, and execution
• Strong systems thinking, using and contributing to a design system and evolving it when necessary
• Judgment to evaluate and direct AI outputs and raise the bar where the cost of being wrong is high
• Strong collaboration and communication across design, product, engineering, and data

Product designers with extensive background in fintech, B2B SaaS, or high-trust domains who excel at 0 to 1 ambiguity and have hands-on experience designing AI-native or conversational experiences.
