Staff Recruiter, Design & Specialized Tech

Gusto is seeking a Staff Design Recruiter for their Specialized Tech recruiting team in San Francisco to manage end-to-end specialized hiring. The role focuses primarily on design talent while offering the flexibility to pivot into product management, data, and other technical searches as priorities shift. Candidates will act as AI-fluent talent advisors, building always-on pipelines and engaging directly with the local design community.

• Typically 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting depth across specialized tech, including meaningful time specializing in Design recruiting
• Hands-on experience using AI across sourcing, market mapping, and interview prep, including building AI agents or skills for team use
• Proven ability to execute cross-functional partnerships across People teams and business partners
• Executive presence with a history of partnering and communicating credibly with leaders at every level
• Data fluency to interpret metrics, prioritize requisitions, and provide data-backed recommendations
• Expertise in sourcing-first strategies, relationship management, and building always-on candidate pipelines
• Bias for action and resilience during complex and competitive searches
• Hybrid work requirement of approximately 2 to 3 days per week in the San Francisco office
