About the role
Gusto is seeking a Compensation Partner to join their People team in San Francisco, CA. This operational role supports compensation programs, handling recurring analysis, audits, and reporting using a systems-first, AI-native mindset. The position involves collaborating with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to ensure compensation is accurate, timely, and market-aligned.
Key requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, People Operations, or a related analytical function
- AI fluency with hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis, research, or documentation
- Strong analytical foundation with advanced spreadsheet skills including lookups, pivots, and formula-driven models
- Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of owning recurring, deadline-driven work
- Exposure to compensation fundamentals such as salary bands, job leveling, market benchmarking, or offer modeling
- Comfort handling highly confidential information with discretion and consistency
- Clear, concise written communication skills
- Interest in compensation and employment law such as FLSA, pay transparency, and pay equity
