Product Counsel, Payroll and Fintech

Gusto is seeking a Product Counsel to join its Product Commercial Legal team in San Francisco, CA. This hybrid role involves owning end-to-end legal advisory support for payroll, fintech, tax, and product development while leveraging AI-driven review tools and scalable process design.

• JD degree and an active license to practice law as a member of a State bar
• 7+ years of combined legal experience, including experience in an in-house legal department at a technology company
• Experience supporting the development, launches, and scaling of payroll, fintech, tax, and payment products
• Experience working closely with Commercial or Contracts Counsel to support deal closure
• Experience with AI review tools such as GCAI or similar
• Demonstrated success building and improving processes

An experienced technology in-house lawyer with a background in regulated financial, payroll, or tax products who is passionate about using AI to drive legal transformation and business innovation.
