Director of Group Operations Strategy & Development

Monzo is seeking a strategic leader to join the Group COO team within Global Operations, driving operational strategy, goal alignment, and global operating model execution across UK Operations, EU Operations, and Controls. In this role, you will bridge the gap between bold ambition and rigorous operational execution by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders in Finance, Tech, and Customer Operations. You will tackle high-impact strategic priorities while maintaining financial control and clear tracking governance.

• Extensive experience operating at a senior strategic level within fintech or complex operational environments
• Proven executor with a track record of turning strategy into executable projects delivered to time and quality
• Experience excelling in highly matrixed environments by building alignment and holding cross-functional teams accountable without direct reporting lines
• Ability to translate complex operational or technical signals into clear executive narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience establishing governance and moving fluidly between strategic vision and hands-on operational delivery in unstructured environments
• Hands-on experience partnering with Finance to connect operational levers directly to commercial performance
• Aptitude for navigating complex global versus local operational structures and managing trade-offs across multiple markets
• Superb communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas and metrics into actionable insights through board decks and leadership updates
