About the role
Monzo is seeking a Player Coach to join their tech hiring team, leading a small squad of recruiters while remaining hands-on with hiring across engineering, product, data, and design. You will act as a trusted hiring partner for executives and senior stakeholders, helping shape hiring plans, organisational design, and talent strategy. This role combines people leadership, coaching, and talent delivery in a fast-moving environment.
Key requirements
- Significant experience recruiting in-house within tech functions such as Product and Engineering
- Experience managing or coaching recruiters
- Ability to partner with senior stakeholders including VPs and executives to influence hiring strategy
- Experience recruiting across a range of levels from mid-level hires to Senior Manager and Director roles
- Strong sourcing skills to attract passive talent
- Experience using data and market insights to influence hiring decisions and improve recruitment processes
- Commitment to inclusive hiring and creating candidate experiences
