About the role
Monzo is seeking a Fraud Investigator to join their Prevent pillar on the frontline of customer trust and safety. In this proactive, high-impact role, you will provide vital real-time interventions for customers facing active fraud attempts across authorized card and faster payment channels. Candidates will be assigned to a permanent weekend rotation supporting either Saturdays or Sundays.
Key requirements
- Gather and analyse evidence from flagged transaction data to identify active fraud attempts
- Make confident, independent decisions to release or block suspicious transactions
- Conduct investigations via phone and chat, balancing professional curiosity with deep empathy
- Support and reassure customers during active fraud scares while securing compromised accounts
- Triage incoming cases and review customer limit increase requests
- Manage the account closure process for first-party concerns in accordance with internal guidance
- Provide tailored advice to victims of fraud to protect them from future threats
- Complete post-investigation activity with high attention to detail for a clean audit trail
- Commit to an 11-week training programme working the same permanent Saturday or Sunday rotation
- Available for a start date of Monday January 18th, 2027
