Head of Credit Risk Oversight

Monzo Bank Europe is seeking a Head of Credit Risk Oversight to shape lending as the bank scales across the continent. This senior Second Line of Defence leadership role involves driving the Credit Risk Framework, defining risk appetite, and leading credit risk analytics and measurement.

• Degree in a quantitative or financial discipline such as Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or Financial Engineering
• Experience leading credit risk oversight or measurement in a retail bank, challenger bank, or top financial regulatory consulting practice
• Expertise in retail credit risk modelling including PD, LGD, EAD, IFRS 9 staging and expected credit loss, affordability, and forward-looking information
• Understanding of European regulation including EBA and ECB guidelines, IFRS 9, CCD2, and GDPR
• Hands-on programming proficiency in SQL and Python
• Proven experience in independent engagement with internal and external auditors and supervisory authorities such as the CBI and ECB

A quantitative finance professional with extensive retail banking credit risk experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to build and lead second-line defense frameworks from scratch.
