Performance Engineer - Performance Analysis & Tuning

Supabase is hiring experienced performance engineers to join a new performance team and deliver measurable improvements across the database, platform, and APIs. In this role, you will identify bottlenecks in live production systems, build performance tooling, and collaborate with database and infrastructure teams as the company scales toward enterprise workloads.

• Deep experience in performance engineering, specifically performance analysis of complex distributed systems
• Ability to walk the whole stack from query optimizer through syscall boundary to IO scheduler or across network paths
• Depth on Linux kernel internals or database internals
• Strong working knowledge of networking and cloud infrastructure performance
• Proven ability to turn performance insights into real product and architecture improvements
• Strong written communication for precise and reproducible problem characterisations
• Pragmatic, tooling-oriented mindset with comfort working across product, infra, and database teams

Experienced performance engineers with a background in distributed systems, Linux kernel internals, or database internals who excel at turning live production data into actionable architectural improvements.
