Senior Solution Architect

Gusto is hiring for a senior individual-contributor Solutions Engineering role to serve as the final technical escalation point, set technical strategy, and handle complex enterprise integration work. Candidates will operate with full autonomy, establishing technical direction across teams and bridging engineering with go-to-market functions.

• 8-12+ years of relevant experience, including significant time in a senior technical pre-sales, solutions-architecture, or implementation leadership role
• Proven track record operating independently on highly complex technical problems beyond established playbooks
• Comfort and credibility in whiteboard sessions with engineers and strategy conversations with executives
• Demonstrated experience setting technical direction or standards across a team or function
• Strong track record influencing product and engineering roadmaps through structured technical feedback
• Deep fluency across Gusto's technical surface area including Salesforce, CRM, API and integration architecture with OAuth and token-based authorization flows, and payroll, tax, or compliance systems

An experienced technical pre-sales or solutions architecture professional who excels at solving ambiguous problems, mentoring peers, and communicating fluently between engineering and executive leadership.
