Engineering Manager - Spark

Supabase is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering efforts on Supabase Spark, an initiative focused on building agentic databases. The role involves managing team culture, hiring, roadmaps, and incident response in a remote-first, globally distributed environment. Candidates must be technical enough to engage in design discussions and set engineering best practices while remaining passionate about people management.

• 5+ years of engineering background with depth in complex systems
• 3+ years managing remote engineering teams
• Experience managing engineering teams at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company
• Experience with developer tools or databases, including SQLite and Postgres ecosystems
• Technical credibility in backend and database systems such as APIs, auth, and Postgres access control
• Experience leading a team shipping a developer facing API or platform product from early stage to production
• Track record of performance management and navigating difficult conversations
• Experience operating in remote, globally distributed teams working asynchronously
