About the role
Supabase is seeking a FinOps Engineer to drive cost optimization and cloud financial governance across AWS and GCP infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring close collaboration with Engineering, Finance, and Product to build cost attribution, automate governance, and implement savings. Candidates should possess strong technical depth alongside the communication skills needed to influence product decisions and explain cost data to diverse audiences.
Key requirements
- Strong AWS expertise and working GCP knowledge, including pricing models, billing structures, and cost optimization mechanics
- Automation and scripting skills in Python, Terraform, Pulumi, Lambda, or Bash
- Familiarity with cost and billing tooling such as AWS Cost Explorer, Cost & Usage Reports, GCP Billing Reports, and BI or dashboarding tools
- Prior experience in a FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud governance role
- Ability to analyze cost data and present it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
