OrioleDB Deployment Engineer

Supabase is seeking an OrioleDB Deployment Engineer to join their OrioleDB Team and help elevate their OrioleDB offering. You will work closely with the team to package software, manage release lifecycles, optimize CI/CD, and co-own the integration of OrioleDB into the product. This role is ideal for an infrastructure expert who thrives in an asynchronous, fast-paced environment.

• Package software into the supabase/postgres repo using Nix with flakes and help transition packaging to Nix
• Manage OrioleDB release lifecycles, ensuring timely major, minor, and extension upgrades
• Expand platform release systems to allow developer self-service
• Optimize CI/CD and tooling by expanding GitHub Actions, team tooling, and testing/release approaches
• Resolve production issues by proactively identifying and fixing problems in customer deployments
• Maintain best practices and tests to ensure enhanced stability and decreased deployment risks
• Co-own the integration of OrioleDB into the Supabase product
• Bring 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and its ecosystem, including extensions and performance optimization
• Demonstrate proven experience in infrastructure management, tooling, and optimization
• Be proficient in the Nix package management system including flakes, Ansible, Packer, Docker, QEMU/KVM, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Build for multiple architectures, specifically Linux and Darwin/macOS aarch64 targets
• Work comfortably in polyglot environments including builds for C/C++, Go, JavaScript, and Rust-based projects
• Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, especially with customers
• Work effectively in async or globally distributed teams with independent, proactive problem-solving
• Mentor the engineering team on using and contributing to Nix-based work
• Have experience integrating emerging features into widely used managed hosted product platforms

An experienced infrastructure and PostgreSQL specialist who is proficient in Nix packaging, enjoys working in async globally distributed teams, and has a strong background in developer tooling and release engineering.
